The transmitter runs on a 9 volt battery. The boat contains a built in rechargeable battery that charges from a separate base which uses AA batteries.

Charge time averages approximately 5 minutes.

Also considered in the category of Micro RC Boats is the Ocean Explorer-1 micro submarine from Megatech.

This really cool tiny replica is small enough to be used in a fish tank and can go as deep as six feet in a swimming pool!

"...It comes with three front mounted high-powered exploration lights and red and green sequential flashing running lights. The Ocean Explorer-1 comes completely assembled with rechargeable battery power, and only needs 8AA batteries to power-up the two-channel surface command transmitter.

Should your Megatech Ocean Explorer-1 ever run out of power, experience radio-link interference, fear not…our failsafe system is preset to automatically shut down the engines and blow all ballast sending the Explorer-1 safely on an emergency return trip to the surface..." (courtesy of Megatech)

I wonder if my pet Oscar would attack this!?!
